About The Blog…
Hi there, dear reader! I’m thrilled to have crossed paths with you. My name is Sofia Neria, a proud Mexican with a globally-minded heart and an unstoppable spirit.
For over a decade, I have dedicated myself to exploring the world through studying and working abroad, often through international scholarships and competitive job opportunities.
To date, I’ve lived in five countries, studied in four, and worked in three. I created this blog to share my personal journey—offering you tips, tricks, lessons learned, and stories from my experiences living abroad. Whether it’s navigating international scholarships or building a career with global companies, I hope my insights can inspire and guide you on your own international path.
Thank you for visiting today—I’m excited to have you here!
About Sofia
My international journey began at the age of 19, back in 2012, when I had my first job abroad as a Cast Member at Walt Disney World Co., in Downtown Disney, Orlando, Florida. That experience was truly eye-opening—it helped me realize how vast and diverse the world is and sparked my curiosity to explore new countries, cultures, and meet people from all walks of life.
Shortly after, while my University years in Mexico, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in European culture during a summer exchange at Vysoká škola ekonomická v Praze (University of Economics, Prague) in 2014. That trip marked my first step into Europe, and it was incredible to travel through the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, France, Germany, and Spain—all while studying abroad and embracing new experiences.
Following my university studies, I applied for a fully-funded scholarship to study Mandarin Chinese at Fudan University in Shanghai for a year. That was one of the most rewarding chapters of my life—I learned a new language, explored Asia, traveled solo, and most importantly, made lifelong friends.
In 2018, I decided to pursue a Master’s Degree in Management at Maastricht University in the Netherlands, thanks to another scholarship. Since completing my studies, I have made the Netherlands my home, working full-time and continuing to embrace new adventures.
The world is a huge and life is short. Get hold of your dreams because you can discover it too.
Thank you for again for visiting today.
Welcome!
